We Offer Private Lessons for the following instruments Monday thru Saturday:

Guitar, Piano, Bass, Drums, Cello, Violin, Viola, Voice & Composition

Our teachers love to teach music, especially to beginners. 

We think the secret to success is to have fun while you are learning.

Huffman Music Center offers private music lessons to everyone, ages 7-97.

Our music program is designed to insure a positive experience for every student, along with a chance to perform at regularly scheduled recitals.

All private music lessons cost $20 per lesson.  Times are reserved by the month.

Semester and family discounts are available.

We currently employ 7 teachers.  Most of them start teaching at 12:30pm each afternoon, and their last lesson of the day is at 7:30 pm!

This makes our schedule friendly for everyone from public & home school students to working adults.

PIANO TEACHERS

Teacher: Troy Anniskett

Troy has been making music since he was 9 years old. He’s been playing the piano for 12 years and the guitar for 6 years. Troy also composes music, plays in his band called, "Shybones" and has recording knowledge.  Troy started teaching at Huffman Music Center in 2006.

Teacher: Destiny Jeffery

Instruments: Guitar, Beginner Piano, Flute, Clarinet & Saxophone

Destiny has been playing guitar for over 13 years.  Her specialty has been classical and fingerstyle for the past 6 years, and she has taught private guitar lessons since 2004.  Destiny grew up in Alaska and is a recent graduate of UAA.  She has participated in master classes taught by Grammy Award winning artists including:  David Russell; Robert Bluestone; Robert Guthrie; Manuel Barrueco and the LA Guitar Quartet.

Liz is a recent graduate of the University of Arizona, and has just moved to Alaska.  She has been teaching private piano lessons since 2005 and taught music classes at middle and high school levels.  Liz was a music theory tutor at the Boston Conservatory, and is proficient with Finale and Sibelius software.  She has also performed and published original pieces for piano and cello.

--2006-07 Creator & organizer of, “Novus Modus”, a choir specializing in the

   performance of music by student composers

Lesson Attendance/Payment Policy

 

1.  Studio availability is limited and must be paid for in advance, on a monthly basis.  Lessons are $20 p/half-hour lesson (see discounts available below.)  In order to guarantee the student’s lesson time, payment must be made for the month’s lessons on or before the last week of the month prior to the lessons.  Students who do not pay on or before this date will not be on the next month’s schedule until payment is received.  If payment is received after the last week of the month, the student’s lesson time cannot be guaranteed.

Example:  Payment for September, 2007 lessons is due during the week of

       August 25-31, 2007.

 

2.  Teachers will be available for the entire ½ hour of a scheduled lesson.  If a student is late, the teacher will be available to teach for whatever remaining time is left of the lesson.

NO MAKE UP LESSONS ARE AVAILABLE.

 

3.  Auto Pay Option.  Customers can fill out a Music Lesson Auto Payment form with the front desk.  (Huffman Music Center accepts Visa/MC, Discover & AMEX.)  This information will be kept in a secure file and your card will be charged on the 4th week of the month prior to the next month’s lessons.  Customers must call before their last lesson day of the month to cancel the auto pay option for the next month.

 

4.  Semester Discount. When a customer pays for an entire semester up front, the lesson cost will be $18 p/lesson, instead of $20 p/lesson. (Depending on the semester, a customer could save $42.)  Our year is divided in the following semesters:

September 4, 2007-December 31, 2007 (15 weeks)

January 2, 2008-May 31, 2008 (22 weeks)

           

We also offer a discount for the Summer Session:

June 1, 2008-August 31, 2008 (11 weeks)  

 

   5. Family Discount.  Any family who has student/students taking 12 or more

lessons in one month will only pay $18 p/lesson.

 

6.  Optional Pay Weeks.  Customers have the option of whether or not they will pay for or attend a lesson during the weeks of: 

December 24-31, 2007 & March 10-15, 2008
